Looking to do something inspirational? Something that will take you out of your comfort zone, challenge your perceptions and leave you with an excitement and passion for global education? If the answer is yes, Global Learning Partnerships could be for you.
Developed in line with the GTCS Standard for Career-Long Professional Learning (CLPL), Global Learning Partnerships (GLP) is a platform for developing leaders of global education and Learning for Sustainability (LfS).
GLP is a high-quality, values based CLPL programme delivered over a total of 36 days (spread across 18 months) including a 30 day summer placement working alongside educators in Rwanda or Uganda. Throughout their journey on GLP, participants are exposed to authentic first-hand learning experiences which develop their resourcefulness, resilience, communication and problem solving skills. In addition, through a meaningful work based placement in Rwanda or Uganda, participants gain an insight into the country’s culture, politics, education system and development, providing them with an informed context for teaching global education and LfS.
GLP is open to all post-probation classroom teachers in Scotland (early years through to secondary) and GTCS practitioners who support the development and delivery of education within local authority departments.
