Our vision in Perth and Kinross Council is to raise standards to ensure that all children and young people experience high quality Early Learning and Childcare
Highly effective processes to track and monitor children’s progress should be at the heart of all ELC practice. To help settings achieve this and develop a consistent approach across PKC the early years team have worked with the TRIC Tracking Group and ECS Research Analysis & Performance Team to develop a toolkit of resources with guidance on how to use an electronic tracking tool.
20 settings participated in a trial last session to support this development, providing useful feedback and further adaptions to be made.
The expectation for session 2021-22 is to move to the implementation stage with the aim that all settings providing funded ELC will develop effective tracking systems with the use of this resource.
Education Scotland highlighted in a summary following recent ELC Inspections.
“There still remains a need to have effective systems in place for tracking and monitoring.”
The suite of resources has been filed in a Padlet for easy access and will be added to our ELC GLOW.
