Forces All Around Us – for primary teachers    


Part 1: Thursday 17 January 2019 at Verdant Works, 4:30-7:00pm

Part 2: Thursday 24 January 2019 at University of Dundee, 4:30-7:00pm

Delivered by: University of Dundee and Dundee Science Centre

Forces act on everything around us. In this two-part session, learn how to relate forces to your students using exhibits at Verdant Works as a backdrop to identify key forces (push, pull, squash and twist). In the second session, solidify your own learning at University of Dundee by planning a practical investigation for your own class.

Cost: This two-part course costs £30 for the two sessions, but funded places are still available so please get in touch to see if you can attend for free!

Destination Space – for primary teachers and secondary Physics teachers

Thursday 7 February 2019 at Dundee Science Centre, 4:30-6:30pm

Delivered by: Dundee Science Centre

What's happening in the UK Space Industry? Where in the Universe are we going next? How do we search for life elsewhere in space?

Join us for an exciting evening full of the latest news about space and curriculum-linked activities to share with your pupils! Primary workshops focus on searching Mars for signs of life. Secondary workshops focus on the James Webb Space Telescope and infrared radiation. By the end of the session you will understand key examples from the latest space research and will have a number of activities that you can run in the classroom.

Cost: This course costs £30, but funded places are available so please get in touch to see if you can attend for free!
